Scam & account-security help · Ivanhoe & Eaglemont

Think you may have been scammed? Take the next safe step.

We calmly review what happened, inspect the affected device and browser, and help you prioritise the next safe actions without judgement or false recovery promises.

The symptoms

Does this sound familiar?

Someone had remote access to your computer

You installed remote-control software, shared your screen or followed instructions and now need to understand what may have been exposed.

The browser or computer is behaving strangely

Unexpected pop-ups, extensions, notifications, downloads or security warnings have appeared, but the cause is not yet clear.

An important account may no longer be secure

You noticed an unfamiliar login, password reset, changed recovery detail or message sent from an email or social account.

Calm, in-person support

You stay in control.

We work alongside you while you enter your own passwords and authentication codes, with each action explained before it is taken.

Diagnose before buying

Work out what was exposed. Secure what can be secured.

A suspicious call, pop-up or login does not reveal the whole incident by itself. We establish the sequence, assess the device and browser, then prioritise account and reporting actions without claiming forensic certainty.

What happened and what was exposed

We record the sequence, what was installed or shared, and which devices or accounts may be involved.

Device and remote access

We look for suspicious remote-control software, downloads and obvious security indicators relevant to the incident.

Browser and system condition

We review extensions, notifications, settings, security controls and the operating system's update state.

Account and escalation priorities

We identify supported account-security actions and when the bank, Scamwatch, ReportCyber or a provider owns the next step.

What is included

Clear scope. No mystery box.

Calm 90-minute incident review

We establish a working record of what happened and the likely exposure without presenting it as forensic evidence or certification.

Device and browser inspection

We check the agreed areas for remote-access software, suspicious changes and relevant security indicators.

Account-security actions

We help with supported password, session, recovery-detail and multi-factor authentication actions while you control all credentials.

Written priority action plan

You receive completed actions, remaining risks, bank or government reporting steps and any separately scoped follow-up work in plain English.

How it works

From frustrating to understood.

    Protect urgent interests first

Stop contact with the suspected scammer. If money may be at risk, call your bank immediately using independently verified official details rather than waiting for Naked Tech.

  2. 2

    Review the incident onsite

We establish the timeline, inspect the agreed device and browser, and identify the accounts and security actions that matter most.

  3. 3

    Secure, report and plan

We complete safe actions within scope, guide you to the appropriate bank, Scamwatch, ReportCyber or provider pathway, and document the next steps.

Before you book

Frequently asked, fully answered.

What should I do first if money may have been taken?

Contact your bank or financial institution immediately using the official number from its website, app or card—not contact details supplied by the suspected scammer. Do not wait for a Naked Tech appointment. Scam activity can be reported to Scamwatch, while cybercrime, malware, unauthorised access or account compromise can be reported through ReportCyber.

What does the $250 assessment include?

The GST-inclusive price includes local call-out in Ivanhoe or Eaglemont and up to 90 minutes onsite for the agreed incident review, device and browser inspection, account-security assistance, safe straightforward actions within scope and a written priority plan. Extended remediation and follow-up are separate fixed-price projects.

Can you recover stolen money or restore my identity?

No. Naked Tech does not recover or guarantee recovery of money, cryptocurrency or transferred property, and does not provide identity restoration, credit-file repair, legal, financial, insurance or credit advice. Banks, government agencies, police and providers control their own investigations and outcomes.

Do you provide remote-control support for this service?

No. The assessment is delivered onsite in Ivanhoe or Eaglemont, with only a short telephone suitability triage during business hours. Naked Tech is not a 24/7 emergency or incident-response service and does not guarantee same-day attendance.

Will you need my passwords or security codes?

You enter sensitive details yourself. Naked Tech never asks for banking PINs, card security codes, one-time authentication codes or cryptocurrency seed phrases, and does not retain customer credentials after the engagement. Sensitive account work is undertaken only from a device reasonably believed to be clean.

Can you guarantee that everything is clean and secure afterwards?

No. The assessment cannot guarantee that a device or account is completely clean, permanently secure, recoverable or protected from future compromise. Provider-controlled account recovery, forensic investigation, evidence certification, law-enforcement liaison and extended remediation are outside the fixed assessment.
